update23303.291.1.x.1

I bought myself a great Christmas gift, 1/3 of a 1990 Daihatsu Applause 1.8L

oeei joei joei
Officially we just got the 25th off, which is a groundschool day for us. Since I was not booked for flights from 22 to 26 I got 4 days off. Groundschool is starting for me at 27 again.

On Christmas-eve we just relaxed a bit and went into the Isobar (the studentsbar here). For Christmas day, we bought the car and went out for dinner, nothing special done actually on the days off. Except for the cardeal ;)

The flying is great. Finished BAC and Performance flying, now doing the stalls :D. Looking forward to finish Mod1 (first solo) and hopefully withouth any delay, which probably will occur, since we got the stuff with Christmas. And there are still not enough instructors here around...

Also the internet and phoneline broke down fridaynight. The #$%^&* customer service is telling me the whole #%^&* time to wait 2 business days, which is almost a whole fcking week. Stupid Telstra. They do have a 24/7 customer service, but the technicians/cableguys or whatever are only counting business days. Yuh that makes sense... "We can accept all complains about faults, but we can't do anything about it"

And some other stuff to complain. I hate those fcking splash-toilets like the one we have here! It's totally not hygienic and uncomfortable! Who the shit wants splashing toilet water during the dump. And if you want to avoid that, you have to throw a shitload of toiletpaper in the toilet, therefore bad for the environment :') Just give me a non-splashing toilet!
Our current toilet, splash toilet. CRAPPY STUFF:

This is a proper non-splashing toilet! The dump goes first on the platform and it will go in to the water and been flushed away when you flush the toilet, totally logical, simple, hygienic and comfortable!
Proper non-splashing toilet GOOD STUFF!

flying!

Big things happened since the last blog. We started flying and we moved to an other house.

We started flying 2 weeks ago, or actually, most of us did. Everyone but me. The instructor assignment was not very well planned and with the instructors shortage here it took me a week after the first flying day to get airborne. But now I finally started the flying and really it's great.

The first flight I got was last Monday. There were actually 2 flights booked. 1 in the morning and the other in the afternoon. But shit happened even before we got airborne. We got our plane U/S. And that was seriously not funny, since I got my second flight that in the same plane. What happened? After starting the engine, we discovered that the carbonmonooxide detector was al turned black, which means that there was carbonmonooxide detected. An absolute no-go :o. And even more shit was, at that time, 5 of the 7 Grob115's (the type we fly in this module) were U/S because of a faulty nosegear. And we signed the 6th U/S :'). But as shit happens fortune came back and the "carbonmonooxide-problem" was solved and I got my afternoon flight :) Great to fly again. It has been a while since my last flight, so I seriously enjoyed the flying. We flew up to the training area, which is a designated area for training aircraft to fly and did some airwork in Basis Aircraft Control (BAC).

Wednesday I went up 2 times. First flight in the morning again, not to early though, 900, which is great, since you can get some more rest. Some others had to get up at 500 or something. Since my instructor did the walk-around (preflight inspection of the aircraft) with me on the first flight I was suppose to do it now al by my own. Great, the real stuff. We did some more BAC and came back. The second flight was a bit shorter than usual, since we got met some delay and therefore speeded it al up a little bit. I did the Take Off, which was agreat thing to do, transited to the training area, did some airwork again and as we finished the things in the syllabus, we flew back and reduced the delay for the flight after us. Coming Tuesday 2 more flights :)

I used to live with 2 other guys from my course(CP28), now we moved to an other house with 2 guys from the government flying service. The place we got now is far more better then the place I used to live, although it's just 100m away or something :') Got some photo's of our new house.

Still looking for a reasonable car here btw, lose a lot of flexiblity without a car and that sucks.

Amending Jeppesen sucks ass
